Day Nine – Mii Getting A Wii Bit Fitter On My Wii Fit +

Whew! Got through a wine drinking evening, with no binging. I had 4 ryvita’s with olive oil margarine & ham {I need to get some butter, it is healthier} I drank a sugar free calypso strawberry spring water & water, then I went to bed; snored my head off & would not relinquish the cover…

Me & my friend had a good natter about the usual things we natter about…We talked about diets & how diets don’t work & how she watched her mum diet all her life & she was always fat, which is why my friend refuses to diet, my friend is not fat ‘I rest my case’. My Mum was the same. When she started exercising she found she changed shape & lost inches. She also followed the principles of slimming world, but she still had cancer from about the age of 50, which was diagnosed by chance when she went to have her belly button, so called abscess looked at by a specialist. Her doctor gave her 4 lots of antibiotics…WTF!

Anyway…I digress…

Exercise – Healthy eating, definitely the key to my achieving all my fat reducing goals. It is day 9. So 9 days with out drinking sugary drinks, or picking at sweets, cakes, biscuits, chocolate, you name it, if it was sweet I was eating it. I have been eating milk chocolate Mikado biscuits, which are 11 calories per milk chocolate dipped stick, 0.5 syn’s {I am no longer counting syn’s} I want to get some pocky’s {Whatever they are called} They come in all flavours from banana to strawberry, blueberry & back again to the usual milk chocolate…

8-Flavours-of-Pocky

I make sure that I only get one box at a time, so there is no temptation, now my cupboard of ‘sugar’ coated impending doom has gone. I am gradually getting out of the habit of opening the cupboard every time I go out in the kitchen. I’m working on the fridge, but that has just got low fat yogurts for smoothies & sugar free calypso cups…

Shopping daily begins on Saturday morning. I have noticed how much fitter I am just by doing 30 minutes Wii fit + each day for a week. My hips are less stiff & painful when I do the calculator game. At the beginning of the week I could hardly move to add up the what ever they’re called…

wifitplus.02.lg

I am up to island view Wii fit cycling, which is my main exercise on Wii fit. I just need to learn my way around the Wii island. I get 20 flags, then I can’t find my way off the darn mountain. I done 47 minutes, because I got lost, it did not feel like 47 minutes brisk marching on the spot, though the sweat was pouring off me ‘Eeewww!’… I was so distracted by my Mii cycling around the island. It is a great way to exercise if you find exercise boring…Though I do like walking too…

I want to get the Wii U fit…but its been discontinued, because of the Nintendo switch. So I am looking to buy a second hand Wii U fit…It has got extra Wii fit exercises. I wish they could bring out more Wii fit like games…

“Woooo!!!!” I reached week two. Week one I done so amazingly well. I am one happy chubby, fluffy bunny…

2
15st1.75lbs

My start weight was 15st4.25lbs, so in my first week I lost 2.5 lbs. Which I am very pleased about, considering my body is a stubborn bint, which clings onto fat like a limpet. I think I may have found the answer to my stubborn weight loss…

Cortisol & something I have never thought about, but realised last night…Fecking water retention. I notice how swollen my feet were in a before photo I took. So the healthy eating & drinking enough water should help. I looked at natural herbal remedies, but they are for mild water retention. I have not got extreme oedema, but it is not exactly ‘Just when I’m menstruating’ either…

So I looked up diuretic foods. I eat these foods…

Diuretic foods can include the following: beverages containing caffeine and alcohol, which have a diuretic effect, and several other diuretic foods including celery, onion, eggplant, asparagus, and watermelon are said to have a diuretic effect. In addition, the herbs hawthorn, corn silk, and parsley can be used as diuretics in natural medicine. Of these, hawthorn, (crataegus oxycanthus) is the most powerful.

Another reason to eat a healthy diet. A big cause of water retention is too much sodium in the diet. By cutting right down on processed food I am reducing my sodium in take a lot. I just need to wait for my body to catch up…

As for the cortisol. That will correct itself with a anti inflammatory diet…eg- Healthy eating, cut the processed food. I enjoy eating healthy home cooked meals. It takes a little more effort, but it is well worth it, just to improve my health & feel so much better…

Last night I had a few moments wrestling with myself not to break my diet, just to eat a sandwich, after my 23pm food curfew…No! I’m sorry body, I am going to heal you if you like it or not. The pleasure of giving in to eat a sandwich, would have lasted as long as it took me to eat it. Then that feeling of failure…Obviously one sandwich does not damage my whole weight loss journey. It would have just been a minor glip…

I am trying to reprogram my mind to not have that typical ‘Diet mentality’ which is soooo! debilitating & can actually cause weight loss catastrophes…There is not good foods, or bad foods, diet foods & off a diet foods. There is healthy, nutrious food, which keeps me happy, healthy, slim, energetic, motivated, there for my family, which I love with all my heart, so why would I not want to take care of my heart…& the rest of me…

One thing I have noticed. Two people I know who lost lots of weight following a diet. They done really well, reached their target weight, look great. Then they were in hospital with gall bladder issues. I have read about this with other dieters. Also one of the women is now struggling to keep the weight off…So STOP! dieting, start healthy eating that is now my diet. The slimming world extra easy plan is a good healthy eating plan…

Starting this Friday I will be shopping daily. Walking to Aidi’s, which is a 15 minute walk away. I’ll plan the recipe I want to cook the night before. There was a time I would have thought ‘Home cooking is so bland’ & tastes nothing like I expect it to taste, but now my home cooking tastes yummy!

I love meat, poultry, fish, egg’s, cheese, potatoes, rice, bread, cream, butter……On a low carb diet I can eat cream & butter, but no bread, rice or potatoes & it is a tempory fix, you lose lots of water, then you regain said water. Okay so that is very low, low carb. Eating meat, poultry, fish, eggs has got protein, our bodies need protein. They have also got lots of other nutrients…

Nuff said for now…I need more coffee…

Overnight Oats…

I like porridge, so I know I will like these recipes for overnight oats. I got the list from the site ‘ Two chubby cubs slimming world recipes

overnightlarge

I will be buying oats & Muller light vanilla yogurt, ready to give overnight oats a try…

Café Mocha Overnight Oats…

Ohh! Wow! I am so going to try this…

11140224_897865126953758_4999144429405781646_n

you’ll be needing these for café mocha overnight oats:

  • 35g of oats (healthy extra)

  • 1 Muller Yoghurt vanilla with chocolate sprinkles

  • 1 banana (now, if you’re sensible, mash it in a bowl like a normal person, but if you’re Captain Anal when it comes to tweaking, smash it up in your teeth and then spit it into the jar, because you know, that makes a difference to the syns…well maybe if you’re a fucking sparrow)

  • a good cup of instant coffee, stronger the better

you’ll need to do this:

  • mix up your oats with the yoghurt and put into the jar

  • top with the mashed banana

  • take your cup of instant coffee and dribble a tablespoon or two into the jar

  • top with a few granules of coffee

  • mix it all together like a bad-ass and put it in the fridge to enjoy in the morning.

You can make this just as strong as you like. The banana adds a bit of sweetness, the coffee adds a pick-me-up. Better made with decent coffee mind, a cup of Mellow Birds isn’t going to cut the mustard!

There are lots of other recipes for overnight oats. I might just start having overnight oats as my sweet treat…

Slimming World Syn’s VS Weightwatchers smartpoints {Filling & Healthy No Count}

I’m now on the expert course of Wii fit cycling, 20 flag’s but more spread out. I really enjoy doing the Wii fit cycling, I’m looking forward to reaching the free cycling, where I can just cycle where I want to over the Wii fit island, it goes by distance, so the faster I get the further I will cycle…

The same as Wii jogging, though the observing stuff & answering questions, is slightly aggravating, I just want to jog & look at the scenery. I might only be jogging on the spot, but having something to look at makes it less boring, the scenery distracts you, especially on a 50″ tele. I need a 70″ tv next…& Wii U…

“Persistence!” Is key…

One thing I don’t like. Weighing myself every day I go on the Wii fit, if I want to do the fitness test. Apparently I have gained 2 lbs…WTF! Though I am trying to ignore it; think persistence; think long term, there is that slight disheartening feeling. I know it is only water weight, I know my body can be stubborn & cling to fat, just in case another famine is coming…Soooo! I am going to stop weighing myself daily…Or do I persist & stay focused on the fact I am doing the right thing…

I am going to look at the weight watchers ‘Healthy & filling’ diet. I’ll look at the smart points as well…

Hate weighing and measuring food and looking for an easy, fuss-free diet? Then our Filling & Healthy plan is what you need

I want to change my lifestyle, so I maintain my health, ideal weight, ideal size through healthy eating. I need a way of eating which suits me, suits my lifestyle, otherwise, lets face it, it won’t last…

Hello SmartPoints

With SmartPoints, foods that are higher in sugar and/or saturated fat are higher in SmartPoints values.  Foods that are higher in lean protein are lower in SmartPoints values. You’re steered towards healthier choices.

Hmmm! Which means potatoe, pasta, rice, bread will be higher in smartpoints? I want to eat a balanced diet, not a low carb diet. Low carb dieting is great, but it is restrictive & it is temporary. You lose lots of water, then as soon as you start eating carbs again ‘REGAIN!’…I want to avoid having to stick to a restrictive diet for life, because eating other food groups cause you to undo all your hard work…

I will look more at smartpoints…

Sugar and saturated fat increase the Smartpoints values.

Which is fine…but what about potatoes, pasta, rice, couscous, bread? I think fruit is zero smartpoints…

If you count SmartPoints, you eat anything you like – nothing is off the menu. Using a daily and weekly allowance gives you the freedom and flexibility to eat what you like and lose weight.

If I can eat anything I like. Plus I have freedom & flexibility. I can eat like that for life. It has to be a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix…

With No Count, you get freedom from counting and tracking everything. You focus your eating on a list of healthy foods, and as long as you stick to these foods you don’t have to count or track them. And you get a weekly allowance for anything that isn’t on the list.

I am looking towards that way of dieting…

For me to follow the smart points diet, I have 24 smartpoints daily allowance, 35 smartpoints weekly allowance. Then I can earn activity fit points…15 minutes brisk activity = 1 point…

Hmmmm! I think I might stick to the way I’m eating…but first I’ll look at the filling & healthy no count plan…

Food_List

Oo! Crumpets are free. Though I like lots of butter on crumpets, but maybe mashed banana might taste ok, I’ll give it a try…

Sandwich thins {brown} are on the list. So are bacon medallions…

The cheese is not so good. I like my 30g red leister cheese…

I suppose the test is the red wine…Slimming world 27 syn’s VS Weightwatchers 19 smartpoints…

Hmmm! 4 hours 45 minutes to earn 19 smartpoints…

Ohhh! 1 hour 48 minutes to earn 27 syn’s…

I need to do some serious tweaking…20-calories per 1 syn…15 minutes walking is about 105-calories. Which I would count as around 5 syn’s. So maybe I should count my {own version activity syn’s} in time rather then calories. When I do my 30 minutes Wii fit +…instead of counting 5-calories per minute = 150-calories = 7.5 syn’s……………………………..UGH! So confused…

I need to work something else out with the syn’s & the exercise…Forget smart points. Carry on as I am. I’m sure I will work out some way of doing it where it’s fairly syn accurate…

Dinner time…I will work it out later…I might stop following any diet & work out my own diet…

Day Five – Dinner Time – Syn’s Update…

I done my 30 minutes Wii fit + on an empty stomach ‘No pain!’…Hot & sweaty, yes…I done island view Wii cycling, which is 27 flags. The chicken flapping wossy, advanced, I warmed up with the calculator game, as usual. I also done jogging, over took my doggy guide, so had a new guide which took me off on a different route. I opened a new route as well…

I am just cooking dinner. Turkey mince, onion, peppers, mixed veg, Spanish chicken cooking sauce, with rice. All free except the sauce, which is 4 syn’s per quarter jar, I am having a third of the jar, so I’m counting it as 5.5 syn’s…

My syn update is…

83.5 syn’s + 7.5 = 91 syn’s… – 7 syn’s = 84 syn’s – 5.5 syn’s = 78.5 syn’s – 27 syn’s = 51.5 syn’s – 2.5 syn’s = 49 syn’s – 8 syn’s = 41 syn’s

…It is red wine evening this evening…

Dinner time Day Four – 83.5 Syn’s…

I’m just cooking my dinner. Chili with home made wedges. I was just working out where I am with my syn’s…

86 syn’s starting today, day four…30 minutes Wii fit 150-calories = 7.5 syn’s…86 + 7.5 = 93.5…3 minutes jogging on my mini trampoline {My right hip was hurting to much to do more jogging, I don’t want to over do it, but I do want the health benefits on my lymphatic system} Anyway 21-calories = 1 syn…93.5 + 1 = 94.5 syn’s…

Minus the chili cooking sauce 5.5 syn’s = 89 syn’s…Minus the Mikado milk chocolate biscuits 10 syn’s = 79 syn’s…

I like this way of doing syn’s. Otherwise I felt deprived of any sweet food. Just 15 syn’s each day is enough, but not when you want to keep red wine in your life. Its like ‘I used 27 syn’s, now I’ve blown it, I might as well give up, because no I am not giving up the red wine, what’s the point of living longer if you’re deprived of all the good things in life, like wine, chocolate, cake, biscuits’…Yeah! I’m alive, I’m healthy, I’m there for my loved ones, but……’

Actually red wine has got health benefits. In moderation of course. Ideally I should have 1-2 glasses each night, but I have 4-6 glasses twice a week…One thing though. When I had full blood work done a few years ago, my blood work came back fine. No cholesterol issues, or diabetes issues, or iron deficiency issues. I put that down to the red wine & otherwise healthy diet…The sugar addiction is where I have issues…

Ohh! Hang on…I have been having 8 syn’s when eating my milk chocolate Mikado…So I can have 6 syn’s back…79 + 6 = 85 syn’s…I have take more syn’s from the chili cooking sauce, because I had a 3rd…I’m counting it as 7 syn’s…85 – 1.5 {extra syn’s} = 83.5 syn’s…I have got 3 days left before my syn count starts again…

Syn count 83.5…

Day Three Lunch Time – Flexi Syn’s Update…

b7fffc613364a54f4563e9a4d17bff5cI just had a onion, garlic pepper, peppers, left over potatoes, 2 egg, 30g cheese frittata, with 3 ryvita’s…Yum! It was tasty, filling, nutrious & will keep me full until my post exercise smoothie…

I am doing a lot of blogging to keep me motivated. I want to keep reminding myself. Eventually my diet will come naturally so I won’t have to keep focusing quite so much!

…but I still want to stay focused. I want to be more relaxed around my food choices. Not that I’m anxious around a cream cake. I want to feel more in control, as in ‘This is how I eat, eating junk food does entre my mind’…

Syn’s so far…

93.5 syn’s – 10 syn’s = 83.5 syn’s…I just went for a walk; burned 105 calories {earned 5 syn’s} 83.5 + 5 = 88.5 syn’s…

I am using flexible syn’s 15×7 & earning activity syn’s {My version of my slimming world} Today so far I have not used any syn’s…

A Successful Day One On My Weight Loss Journey – I Stopped Off At A Pub For Red Wine & A Good Natter With My Friend…

f4829c6200b3870920b1d9eea8b264d8“Yaaay!” A successful day one…Roll on day two. I drank a bottle of red wine, which was a whopping 27 syn’s. It is something I want to keep in my life, so its not worth cutting it out all together, only to fall off the wagon, down the slippery slope, landing in brambles & stinging nettles…Well…going off my diet…

I done soooo! well. There was no sugar rush. Noooo! bingeing. I had porridge {1x healthy B choice} with skimmed milk {The rest of 1x healthy A choice} with a banana. It was filling, it was tasty, it was sweet. I felt satisfied…

My friend is giving up smoking, so we’re on a similar journey in our life. My addiction is picking. Sweet junk that is…I call it junk, because lets face it, it is not healthy. My sweet junk cupboard, turning into my slimming world cupboard, is really helping…I still need to get a mirror to stick on the door & a notice board…weight_loss_motivational_stickers_beach_08_square_sticker-r8c4c815631fa429b9a3eb8bd8d4f4c99_v9wf3_8byvr_324

I worked out that yesterday I burned the equivalent of around 8 syn’s. So I’m not going to start worrying {Not literally, just wondering …How much damage is this red wine doing?} …about syn’s. Especially as you can have 5-15 syn’s & I am using flexible syn’s, aka 105 syn’s per week. My version of slimming world, to suit my lifestyle…

Yesterday I used no other syn’s, then the 15 syn’s towards my red wine. Today I have got 3 syn’s left, after using the other 12 syn’s for the red wine yesterday…technically I burned the equivalent of 8 syn’s, through exercise, so I don’t feel quite so bad, I feel in control. In the past I gave up slimming world mainly because of the syn’s & the fact the food used to be bland & boring…

Then I learned how to cook tasty healthy food. Herbs, spices, garlic, all contributing towards the difference between bland & tasty. I think I might have pasta again for lunch. It was yummy. This time I will add onion, tomatoes & peppers…

So I thought I would be brave & add my very unflattering ‘fattest’ before photo’s…’Yaaakes!’…I’ll put that in my next post. A post about total ‘get over hiding’ & doing something about it, instead of beating myself up emotionally. Which holds me back. I have been holding myself back. Well ‘NO MORE!!!’…

I will continue…

Shopping Day – Day One…

So far today I have fasted from 23pm last night, to 13pm today. All I had in those 12 hours, was water & black coffee. I was going shopping at 14pm, so I had a banana & pasta with herbs, cheese 25g {1xA choice, I could have had 30g} & a small tin of sweet corn, it was quite tasty, I thought it would be too dry & bland. I think the garlic pepper with the mixed herbs helped add taste, also the red leister cheese…

I didn’t want to be hungry when we went shopping. I bought chicken, lean beef mince, turkey mince & 2 packs of birds eye inspiration salmon. I also stocked up on eggs & potatoes, as well as frozen chopped onions & frozen chopped peppers…

When we got home I had a smoothie. Made up of a banana low fat yogurt {Free}Skimmed milk 100mls, I have got 250mls left {1x A choice} & frozen mango. Frozen fruit is really handy for making smoothies. Smoothies are quite filling, they satisfy my sweet tooth & added nutrients…

I am doing the slimming world diet my way, so it is for life. I am doing extra easy, but I am having 2 of each A&B healthy choices…

The main reason I am following the slimming world diet, is to improve my health; reading the health benefits of the food I am eating, does keep me motivated towards making healthy choices. I want to choose healthy food over sugary junk, rather then feel I have to, because I am on a diet…This is a life style change…
