Low Carb Eating Is Not All Deep Fat Fried Bacon…

Ummm! All that fuss about eating cake. I decided to work out my carbs. The 1/4 jam roly poly was 47g…’Gasp!’ I bet my blood sugar level sky rocketed, then all that insulin ‘tut-tut’…but…I ate under 90g of carbs, which is low, 100g carbs is low carb eating…

Though its best to get those carbs from healthy foods…NOT! cake…

Didyouknowdietstandfor-02

I decided to weigh myself as well. I was expecting my weight to be back up to where I started. It is under the 15st mark ‘Yeesss!’…I don’t want to weigh myself too often, I want to get myself into the right frame of mind for weighing & measuring. If I lose 5 lbs of fat & gain 5 lbs of muscle, I won’t be 5 lbs lighter, but I will be slimmer. Also muscle burns more calories then fat…

fat-vs-muscle-burn

Sometimes its easy to over look all the good things I am doing on my weight loss journey & focus on the so called bad. That cake was me eating sweet treats in moderation. I am going to start forgiving myself…

I was thinking of doing the induction phase of Atkins, then after 2 weeks building up my carbs 5g each week…but…I have decided that is too much like a diet. I am giving up dieting & changing my eating habits for life. I think 100g net carbs is low carb enough…

low-carb-food-pyramid

Its funny how aggressive & rude certain people get over ‘other people’ eating low carb…I was watching a youtube video of a woman who had been on a low carb diet for 6 months. Most of the comments were of rude people over reacting to her saying ‘High fat diet’…’ANIMAL FATS!!!  ‘arrrrggggghhhhh!!!…That is people for you…

Jeeze! Learn some manners people, talk about insulting…

Anyway…

effects-of-low-carb-diet

I think the stigma for low carb eating comes from the people who tried Atkins, but took the fry up’s a tad too far. Jeeze! There are other foods then bacon. There is ‘grilled’ food, including low starch veggies such as mushrooms. There is fish, chicken, turkey…

I watched a program about bad diets, of course the Atkins diet was on there, but the woman was deep fat frying bacon & living on deep fat fried, well bacon, eggs, sausage. No wonder she sweated bacon, when she was playing rugby…Chicken, fish, low starch veggies ‘Grill’…Sheesh!

Ignorance is not always bliss…

Its like the Atkins diet tv program. I wanted to slap her…OMFG! there was tears, there was craving cereal, there was head aches…Drink more water…Eat more variety. Do the research. Obviously the low fat & the cereal was not doing anything for her waist line. Its such a shame they always focus on the negatives when it comes to low carb…

LCBudget-2400x1600low-carb.png

Its like my friend. She’s really slim, eats healthy…but she’s the most unhealthy person I know. She’s always ill, she’s always going to hospital for yet more tests. Maaaybe she needs to start eating Paleo…

The only thing which puts me off eating paleo, is the ‘No dairy’…Though I can go no dairy. I drink black coffee, I don’t mind lemon in herbal tea. I could go with out cheese, but I like cheese…I’ll look into the paleo diet, I know it is one of the healthiest ways to eat. No grains, no dairy. Meat, poultry, fish, nuts, seeds, berries, vegetables, fruit, I think potatoes are debatable…but if a caveman had dug up a potatoe……

paleo-foods-paleo-food-list-paleo-diet-recipes

It does look quite restrictive…Also ‘wild meats’…surely any meat, poultry & fish, not just game…

Hold The Press “I lost 3.75 lb” Week Two Weigh In…

“Yaaaay!” I just weighed myself again…{I won’t go into detail, lol} I have lost more then 0.5 lb I origionally thought I had lost. I have lost a whopping…

6
14st12lb

I am still focusing on the exercise, muscle building to burn more calories & healthy eating, but I am soooo! ecstatic to have lost 3.75 lbs “Woooo!!!”. I have gone from trying to think positive thoughts about the 0.5 lb weight loss – to – ecstatic! Which is sad in a way & another blog post…

bd9ab921aeb491a2801a5facd73a2858I achieved one of my goals…The ‘Reach the 14’s on the scales’ goal…How can I award myself. I know…A bar of chocolate…Noooo!!! I am going to award myself with a plant…

Inches are still more important to me…but I want to reach my first target weight of 11st0lb. Mind you my start weight on my last successful diet was 14st12lb…but…I regained the 3st weight loss & went up to 17st+…It is just a number & dwelling on the past won’t help…

I have learned a lot about dieting & my body since then. That was just a learning curve, for this weight loss journey, where I will reach my final destination target weight & settle there…

Day Fifteen – Week Three – Dropped 4 inches Over All – Lost 0.5 lb…

Yeesss! Another successful diet day. Another successful diet week ‘Woooo!!!’…I was going to say that my week two weigh day has been a disappointing weigh day, because I lost ‘Only!’ 0.5 lb…but…I lost over all 4 inches, which is 1″ more then week one. My measurements are more important & I know how stubborn my body can be. There is also other factors, like water…

0.5 lb is a loss. It is going in the right direction. The most important thing to me is inch loss & so far in 2 weeks I have dropped 7 inches over all. I measure my bust-ribs {under bust} waist-hips-bottom-thighs-knees-upper arm…

6c3811b2f21e4e8f4d4608224d22f409

This week I am going to start gardening like a crazy woman…I want to put all my plants in pots & cement over the ground where I struggle to keep on top of the weeds. My garden is too small for shrubs & too big for pots. When I move, I want either a huge garden, or a court yard garden. I inherited a garden which had been neglected for years. 5 years on, I’m still battling with the same weeds…

So! Inch loss! I am concentrating on inch loss, not weight loss. Which means carry on the way I’m eating. Yesterday I did not have any food all evening & went to bed earlier. So today, when I start eating at 13pm, I would have fasted for 18 hours, because I stopped eating around 19pm last night…

I am going to start gardening 10 minutes at a time. I want to move all my pots closer together. I have got lots of empty pots to fill…Lots of seedlings to plant & hanging baskets to hang. I am really slow this year…

Measurements

Bust – 44″ {0.5″}

Ribs – 39.25″ {0.5″}

Waist – 42″ {1″}

Hips – 45″ {1″}

Bottom – 44″ {0.5″}

Thighs – 26.25″

Arms – 13″ {0.5″}

Knees – 16.25″

I feel inspired to start focusing more on exercise & getting fitter, but I am not going to go back to eating lots of sugary junk food & processed food. I am going to carry on intermittent fasting 13pm to 23pm {Fasting more when I can} & eating healthy, no dieting…Inch loss is definitely more important then weight loss…

1411638441200b79657a2a7a06d002d9ab69a7a95708cfat-vs-muscle-burnfc132077f878f75f664413b2fc1185da

First I need coffee, then gardening…if I was to do what Paul McKenna says in his book ‘I can make you thin’ I would forget the scales & concentrate on the 4 golden rules & getting active. I am going to carry on weighing myself & measuring myself weekly though. Some weeks I might lose lb’s & no inches…

I am going to exercise to build muscle…5 lbs of muscle burns 250-calories VS 5 lbs of fat burning a mere 20 calories. It is a no brainer. I am not going to start doing exercise I can not realistically keep up, but I am going to be focusing on getting more active & doing more strength training. Starting by moving pots around in my garden…

“Woooo!!!!” I reached week two. Week one I done so amazingly well. I am one happy chubby, fluffy bunny…

2
15st1.75lbs

My start weight was 15st4.25lbs, so in my first week I lost 2.5 lbs. Which I am very pleased about, considering my body is a stubborn bint, which clings onto fat like a limpet. I think I may have found the answer to my stubborn weight loss…

Cortisol & something I have never thought about, but realised last night…Fecking water retention. I notice how swollen my feet were in a before photo I took. So the healthy eating & drinking enough water should help. I looked at natural herbal remedies, but they are for mild water retention. I have not got extreme oedema, but it is not exactly ‘Just when I’m menstruating’ either…

So I looked up diuretic foods. I eat these foods…

Diuretic foods can include the following: beverages containing caffeine and alcohol, which have a diuretic effect, and several other diuretic foods including celery, onion, eggplant, asparagus, and watermelon are said to have a diuretic effect. In addition, the herbs hawthorn, corn silk, and parsley can be used as diuretics in natural medicine. Of these, hawthorn, (crataegus oxycanthus) is the most powerful.

Another reason to eat a healthy diet. A big cause of water retention is too much sodium in the diet. By cutting right down on processed food I am reducing my sodium in take a lot. I just need to wait for my body to catch up…

As for the cortisol. That will correct itself with a anti inflammatory diet…eg- Healthy eating, cut the processed food. I enjoy eating healthy home cooked meals. It takes a little more effort, but it is well worth it, just to improve my health & feel so much better…

Last night I had a few moments wrestling with myself not to break my diet, just to eat a sandwich, after my 23pm food curfew…No! I’m sorry body, I am going to heal you if you like it or not. The pleasure of giving in to eat a sandwich, would have lasted as long as it took me to eat it. Then that feeling of failure…Obviously one sandwich does not damage my whole weight loss journey. It would have just been a minor glip…

I am trying to reprogram my mind to not have that typical ‘Diet mentality’ which is soooo! debilitating & can actually cause weight loss catastrophes…There is not good foods, or bad foods, diet foods & off a diet foods. There is healthy, nutrious food, which keeps me happy, healthy, slim, energetic, motivated, there for my family, which I love with all my heart, so why would I not want to take care of my heart…& the rest of me…

One thing I have noticed. Two people I know who lost lots of weight following a diet. They done really well, reached their target weight, look great. Then they were in hospital with gall bladder issues. I have read about this with other dieters. Also one of the women is now struggling to keep the weight off…So STOP! dieting, start healthy eating that is now my diet. The slimming world extra easy plan is a good healthy eating plan…

Starting this Friday I will be shopping daily. Walking to Aidi’s, which is a 15 minute walk away. I’ll plan the recipe I want to cook the night before. There was a time I would have thought ‘Home cooking is so bland’ & tastes nothing like I expect it to taste, but now my home cooking tastes yummy!

I love meat, poultry, fish, egg’s, cheese, potatoes, rice, bread, cream, butter……On a low carb diet I can eat cream & butter, but no bread, rice or potatoes & it is a tempory fix, you lose lots of water, then you regain said water. Okay so that is very low, low carb. Eating meat, poultry, fish, eggs has got protein, our bodies need protein. They have also got lots of other nutrients…

Nuff said for now…I need more coffee…

Cortisol – Cushing’s Syndrome – Weight Issues – Health Issues – Part One…

I am just researching cortisol

What happens if I have too much cortisol?

Too much cortisol over a prolonged period of time can lead to a condition called Cushing’s syndrome. This can be caused by a wide range of factors such as a tumour that produces adrenocorticotropic hormone (and therefore increases cortisol secretion), or taking certain types of drugs. The symptoms include:

  • Rapid weight gain mainly in the face, chest and abdomen contrasted with slender arms and legs

  • A flushed and round face

  • High blood pressure

  • Osteoporosis

  • Skin changes (ie, bruises and purple stretch marks)

  • Muscle weakness

  • Mood swings which show as anxiety, depression or irritability

  • Increased thirst and frequency of urination.

I have got at least 5 of those things. Especially the weight gain & changing shape to be more apple shape, when I was always a hour glass shape. I was at least always in proportion. Now I look like I’m 9 months pregnant with triplets…

Round face…Ugh! Yes!…Red when I am moving faster then a snails pace…I also am thirsty a lot & pee a lot, more then usual, or was usual for me. Skin changes, yes. Sometimes my legs & feet have a blue tinge, which is not good…

What Does Cortisol Do?

Cortisol is often called the “stress hormone” because of its connection to the stress response, however, cortisol is much more than just a hormone released during stress. Understanding cortisol and its affect on the body will help you balance your hormones and achieve good health.

I feel I stressed my body too much when I was dieting before. I ate 1500-calories each day & walked 2’5-3 hours each day. I do not drive, so I was walking every where. The school run, shopping, walking to visit my friends, long walks with my Dog…Lots of hill’s. I live in a hilly area…

I was also going through a stressful time at the time of my diet…The diet actually got me through, I was so focused on the diet I side tracked the stressful situation{s} I was living in…I learned some valuable life lesson’s & gained an extra 2 stone, plus belly fat…just to add insult to injury…

I realise now. That I could never have maintained my weight loss after that diet. Because as soon as I started eating normally again, I was over eating. My body probably thought the semi starvation was over & thought it needed to store fat just in case there is another famine. Add unhealthy junk food…’Eeeeek!’…

Not anymore…I lost that extra 2 stone through not dieting, I just cut down & ate healthier meals…but…My waist/tummy went up to a whopping 45″…I lost 2 stone & an inch off my waist/tummy…Ummm! Apparently 3 lb weight loss = 0.5″…Or is that over all? Hmmm? That is another thing I want to research…

Anyway…Technically my waist/tummy measurement should have gone down by at least 4 inches…Also I was thinking. When I started my last successful diet, I weighed 14st12lbs & measure 39″ around the waist/tummy. When I reach 14st12lbs this time, I am more likely to measure 43″…’Arrggghhhh!’…

I will try not to let it bother me…I will just persist on my ‘healthy eating’ life style change…Eventually my hormones will balance, my health will improve, my body will heal. I just need to keep on going; not get caught up with the numbers on the scales or the tape measure, I will judge my progress on my health. I already feel less pain. Though in the evening, after exercise, I am STIFF! & my hips hurt…

It is only day five. Imagine how I will look & feel on month five…

What Is Cortisol?

Cortisol is one of the steroid hormones and is made in the adrenal glands. Most cells within the body have cortisol receptors. Secretion of the hormone is controlled by the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland and the adrenal gland.

I have noticed that I have got a small lump on my throat. Sometimes it gets quite tender & my neck swells up. I put it down to infection from a abscess…My body fighting the infection…

What Cortisol Does

Because most bodily cells have cortisol receptors, it affects many different functions in the body. Cortisol can help control blood sugar levels, regulate metabolism, help reduce inflammation and assist with memory formulation. It has a controlling effect on salt and water balance and helps control blood pressure. In women, cortisol also supports the developing fetus during pregnancy. All of these functions make cortisol a crucial hormone to protect overall health and well-being.

By cutting down on the sugary junk & processed foods, I am cutting down on inflammatory foods. I need to keep on eating a healthy, balanced diet. I need to eat this way forever. As I keep saying, it is a lifestyle change…

Problems Associated with High Cortisol Levels

Sometimes tumors on the pituitary or adrenal glands can contribute to a condition known as Cushing’s syndrome, which is characterized by high levels of cortisol in the blood. Individuals with Cushing’s syndrome will experience rapid weight gain in the face, abdomen and chest. Often doctors will notice this because of the individual’s slender arms and legs compared to the heavy weight in the core of the body. Cushing’s syndrome also causes a flushed face, high blood pressure and changes in the skin. Osteoporosis and mood swings are also a factor considered with Cushing’s disease.

High cortisol levels can also contribute to changes in a woman’s libido and menstrual cycle, even without the presence of Cushing’s disease. Anxiety and depression may also be linked to high cortisol levels.

Ummm! My menstrual cycle has stopped cycling. I thought I had reached my menopause. Or have I? I could go to the doctor’s & find out, but I won’t. I would rather improve my health through changing my eating habits, then if there is no change, I will go to the doctor’s…

Day Four Of My Weight Loss Journey- 2 lbs Weight Loss – Setting BIG! Goals…

2
15st1.75lb

“Wooo!” A successful day three…I decided to weigh myself, because my weight was staying the same on my Wii fit + board. I weigh 15st1 3/4 lbs. I lost around 2 lbs, give or take the odd 1/4 of a lb…

Losing 2 lb’s in three days is pretty good. I would have been happy with staying the same. I know how stubborn to let go of fat my body can be. If I had stayed the same I would not have given up or tweaked my diet to eat less or exercise more. No, I would have just kept going as I am. I am eating how I can eat for life…

I have made changes. HUGE! changes. I no longer pick at sweet junk food. I no longer drink sugary fizzy drinks. No longer eat late at night past 23pm. I eat less sauces, I had salad cream the other day, but I counted the syn’s. I am doing 30 minutes Will fit + each day. I am eating more fruit & veg. I am using fry light. So I’ve made some pretty big changes which I can keep doing forever…’Life style changes’…Forming new habits…

It is important I don’t eat too little. Your body needs calories to burn fat. If I eat to little my leptin levels will drop, my ghrelin levels will rise. Cutting out the sugar {Extreme sugar overload} I am doing my body a HUGE! favour when it comes to cancerous cells. Cut out sugar you starve the cancer cells, but…I can’t. Actually I won’t! cut out sugar all together, that is unrealistic if I want to maintain all my weight loss for life…

Yesterday I had 10 syn’s worth of Mikado milk chocolate biscuits…Today I have got 96 syn’s – 10 syn’s = 86 syn’s…I am adding syn’s on when I exercise. It is a matter of make or break when it comes to my making this weight loss journey work for me. I don’t think a one diet plan fits all. Though healthy eating is a no brainer, our body needs nutrients to function. I am no longer willing to live in pain, with no energy & absolutely no motivation…

I have found eating 14:10 {Intermittent fasting, 14 hours fating, 10 hours eating window} is ultra easy for me. I eat a big, filling, healthy lunch around 13pm, then after 30 minutes Wii fit + exercise I have a smoothie, it is usually about 17pm then. So I go 4 hours with out feeling that I want to eat, but after exercise I want to eat, but its close to dinner time, which is around 19pm. My smoothie consists of a free low fat yogurt, skimmed milk {From my 350ml healthy A choice allowance} a handful of frozen fruit, all blended together. I share my smoothie with my daughter, we have a 250ml glass each…

It is sweet. It is healthy. It is filling, satisfying & ‘Tasty’…No more fizzy drinks & sugary snacks, especially after doing all that exercise…Three days in, I no longer hurt as much when I exercise on my Wii fit +, but my hips are still stiff & hurt if I do the hula hoop {Actually it HURTS!} but…as I said…It is already getting easier by day three. Which means the healthy eating is working & I’m getting fitter. I am aiming to be as active as I used to be, before I was in pain. I used to walk on average 2.5 hours – 3 hours each day. I loved walking…

Maybe I should set myself a long term goal…The walk for life…Hmmm? I am going to look into that. I could encourage my daughters to walk with me…Nope its race for life, but I won’t be running, I know you can walk it as well…Before I sign up & commit myself, I will look into it. After all if its next month I won’t be fit enough. If I have a few months I can get fit enough…Or I could go really big…Walk the London to Brighton wossy, or is that cycling? I will look…

I need more coffee & had better eat my lunch…

Coffee & Weight Loss – Rebounding The Lymphatic System & Weight Loss…

Drinking more black coffee; I can eat in 45 minutes time…

Like many people, you may want to drop a few pounds as quickly as possible. Some people suggest drinking coffee as a dietary aid, but the role of coffee and caffeine in weight loss plan is heavily debated. Caffeine may help you lose a bit of weight or even prevent weight gain, but it cannot help you lose significant weight or keep it off permanently; however, by drinking coffee sensibly and combining it with a healthy diet and exercise regimen, you can lose weight.

I enjoy my black coffee. Admittedly I used to eat something sweet each time I had coffee. One of the main reason’s behind my fatness. Also I used to eat all evening. Especially when I am in insomnia mode {Nothing to do with the coffee}

So! If stop picking with each coffee & stop eating at 23pm. I am cutting out a HUGE! chunk of my weight issues “Easy!”…

Reduce cravings with a cup of coffee. One of coffee’s positive attributes is its ability to suppress your appetite. Try drinking some coffee if you find yourself craving food or going for seconds at meals. This may reduce your cravings until a meal or to get you through a long meal

Each day I am going to exercise. I am aiming to do 30 minutes Wii fit +…Plus 5 minutes jogging on my mini trampoline

Rebounding is very low impact and puts almost no stress on your joints. That’s great if you have an ailment that prevents participation in high impact exercises, or if you’ve dropped out of an exercise routine before because of soreness.

I have no pain when I am jogging on my mini trampoline, which is great for me, because I get lots of pain in my hips…

A rebounder offers not just training benefits, but therapeutic as well.

It is quite fun. Especially when Jogging to music…

Advantages Of Rebounder Exercises

  1. Circulates more oxygen to tissues.

  2. Increases the functional activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells.

  3. Aids lymphatic circulation.

  4. Encourages collateral circulation.

  5. Strengthens the heart and other muscles in the body.

  6. Allows the resting heart to beat less often.

  7. Regular use can lower elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

  8. Stimulates metabolism.

  9. Promotes body growth and repair.

  10. Expands the body’s capacity for fuel storage and endurance.

  11. Improves coordination through the transmission of nerve impulses and responsiveness of the muscle fibres.

  12. Offers relief from neck and back pain or headaches caused by lack of exercise. [4]

  13. Enhances digestion and elimination processes.

  14. Supports better and easier relaxation and sleep.

  15. Results in a better mental performance.

  16. Helps reduce the likelihood of obesity.

I wonder if I can do my Wii fit + Jogging on my mini trampoline…Hmmm? Why not. It would be less impact on my hips & knees, though I’d have to do a move around, but once I go onto more advanced Wii fit + jogging, it will be worth the extra effort…

All About the Lymphatic System

My Mum died from liver, bowl, cancer in her lymph glands. They never found the primary cancer, those were secondary cancer…{I am no expert} My Mum had cancer for 10-15 years, before they diagnosed her. She would have been 50+ when the cancer started. I am 48 years old. I share my Mum’s genes. I am SO! DETERMINED! to lose all my excess fat & improve my health…

Why would I want to give up on my diet? I would have to have a death wish. How to commit suicide, slowly & painfully “Keep on eating myself to death”…”Put my kids through losing their Mum”…”Put my grand daughter through losing her Nana”…”Put my husband through losing his wife”…Harsh & morbid I know, but that is what it comes down to, for the sake of cutting down on sugary junk & eating healthy foods…

{Takes a deep breath}

Yesterday. After I done 30 minutes Wii fit + & had a shower. I ACHED! so much, I could hardly concentrate on cooking my dinner…but I forced myself to focus…Cook veg! Cook the fish! NO! salad cream…FOCUS!…Tonight I will be ready for it & exercise earlier, shower earlier, then sit down & relax before cooking dinner…I realised I need to focus when cooking/making my meals. No mindless ‘Just grab!’ something convenient. Or I ache, I am going to treat myself…

I love homemade chips. They are free {Made using fry light}…but I love them with salad cream. I am going to buy light salad cream, or mayonnaise & count the syn value. Which is…

I read this on net Mums

They’ll all be 1 syn per 20 calories as no free food.

You can nearly always find out the calories in anything by going to a supermarket site and checking the NV’s :

Hellmans light = 297 cal/100g so 15 syns per 100g.

Heinz Light = 236 cal/100g so 12 syns per 100g.

Lunch time…I am off out side to cut some of my home grown perpetual spinach…Another post ‘Home grown veg’…

A Successful Day One On My Weight Loss Journey – I Stopped Off At A Pub For Red Wine & A Good Natter With My Friend…

f4829c6200b3870920b1d9eea8b264d8“Yaaay!” A successful day one…Roll on day two. I drank a bottle of red wine, which was a whopping 27 syn’s. It is something I want to keep in my life, so its not worth cutting it out all together, only to fall off the wagon, down the slippery slope, landing in brambles & stinging nettles…Well…going off my diet…

I done soooo! well. There was no sugar rush. Noooo! bingeing. I had porridge {1x healthy B choice} with skimmed milk {The rest of 1x healthy A choice} with a banana. It was filling, it was tasty, it was sweet. I felt satisfied…

My friend is giving up smoking, so we’re on a similar journey in our life. My addiction is picking. Sweet junk that is…I call it junk, because lets face it, it is not healthy. My sweet junk cupboard, turning into my slimming world cupboard, is really helping…I still need to get a mirror to stick on the door & a notice board…weight_loss_motivational_stickers_beach_08_square_sticker-r8c4c815631fa429b9a3eb8bd8d4f4c99_v9wf3_8byvr_324

I worked out that yesterday I burned the equivalent of around 8 syn’s. So I’m not going to start worrying {Not literally, just wondering …How much damage is this red wine doing?} …about syn’s. Especially as you can have 5-15 syn’s & I am using flexible syn’s, aka 105 syn’s per week. My version of slimming world, to suit my lifestyle…

Yesterday I used no other syn’s, then the 15 syn’s towards my red wine. Today I have got 3 syn’s left, after using the other 12 syn’s for the red wine yesterday…technically I burned the equivalent of 8 syn’s, through exercise, so I don’t feel quite so bad, I feel in control. In the past I gave up slimming world mainly because of the syn’s & the fact the food used to be bland & boring…

Then I learned how to cook tasty healthy food. Herbs, spices, garlic, all contributing towards the difference between bland & tasty. I think I might have pasta again for lunch. It was yummy. This time I will add onion, tomatoes & peppers…

So I thought I would be brave & add my very unflattering ‘fattest’ before photo’s…’Yaaakes!’…I’ll put that in my next post. A post about total ‘get over hiding’ & doing something about it, instead of beating myself up emotionally. Which holds me back. I have been holding myself back. Well ‘NO MORE!!!’…

I will continue…

Pre-Start-The packing & last minute planning stage of my weight loss journey…

My weight loss journey starts in 3 minutes. No more food/calories from 23pm tonight to 13pm tomorrow. We are going shopping in the afternoon…

I am going to earn the syn’s I use, through burning 20-calories per 1 syn. I need 27 syn’s for wine tomorrow. Which means I have to burn 540-calories. I have to do a maximum of 2 hours 25 minutes activity, depending on what I do…

I am just watching slimming world vlog’s on you tube; I’m learning a lot & confirming other things. I’m going to get some garlic paste {In a jar} It is free. I am going to buy canned mushrooms as well, because I find fresh mushrooms go off before I finish them. Though they don’t look as nice as fresh…

I am only having water & black coffee until 13pm. Then I will have a banana. We’re going shopping at 14pm. I have got to write a list.  As I want to get frozen chopped onion, frozen chopped peppers, celery, carrots, garlic paste, herbs & spices I have already got. Pasta & chopped tomatoes I have already got…

I should be able to cook enough for a base, to make chili, Bolognese, meat balls & pasta sauce. I’ll add chili & kidney beans to the chili. Mushrooms to the Bolognese; lean beef mince to the Bolognese; turkey mince to the chili; slimming world, Iceland meatballs with the pasta. I am going to get lamb mince & make shepherds pie, with potatoe & sweet potatoe mash…

I will weigh & measure myself when I get up & take before photo’s ‘Yaaaakes!’…but I’m only getting slimmer, its not like I am going to stay looking that fat. As of that moment I weigh, measure & get my before photo’s, I will be losing weight. I am going to weigh, measure, take more during photo’s, every Wednesday morning…

I am going to get batteries for my Wii fit +. Then I will do my Wii fit every late afternoon 16.30pm to 17pm. I like doing Wii fit cycling & jogging. I also like doing the yoga & muscle strength exercises. I like the other exercises too…

I have got my resistance bands, leg magic, core master, Ab twister, trampoline, Wii fit +, core shaper, hand weights, ankle weights, Nordic walking poles…Also gardening, housework, decorating, walking…& rosemary Connelly exercise dvd’s…Oh! Yeah! I forgot my step to the beat Wii game…

Approximately 10 hours of exercise, drops 1 dress size/ 2 inches off my waist/tummy. Resistance/strength training will get faster results…30 x 20 minutes. 20 minutes = approximately 100-calories…So if a 3,500-calorie deficit drops 1 lb…Then there is muscle weight. Muscle uses more energy & takes up less space. So technically inch loss is more important to me…

I do need to get fitter, not just go in guns blazing, then knacker myself out so I stop exercising all together…Though I do want to earn my syn’s, rather then have 5-15 syn’s each day. If I want a bar of chocolate, I have to earn the syn value. 20 calories per 1 syn. Approximately 4 minutes of Wii fit {I am rounding up the amount I burn, per minute} 30 minutes of Wii fit = 150-calories = 7.5 syn’s…

Birds Eye Inspiration – Free Syn’s Slimming World…

4f6b0343f29d9cb1f156cec53654e7ce“Yaaay!” Inspirations fish is syn free ‘Woooo!’ I’m going shopping tomorrow, I know what I will be buying…

One of my past diet failures…’Forgetting!’ just how easy the slimming world diet is. When I first tried the slimming world diet, about 20 years ago, I found it too bland…

Now my cooking skills have improved & there appear to be more choices of convenient food. Especially since the Iceland range…

I need to remember just how easy it is to follow the slimming world extra easy diet. The only changes I am making to my diet is eating more veg;  more fruit; bread, cheese, milk is in moderation; a lot less sweet junk; if I have synful food I have to exercise to earn the syns. 20-calories burned = 1 syn. Which does not seem a lot, until you think of a galaxy ripple for example, which is around 180 calories, 9 syn’s…
